Hello everyone, and welcome to the fourth annual Dwight-Englewood interscholastic Model UN Conference! Both of us have been passionate members of the club since joining in our Freshman year, and we\u2019re so excited to be running the conference this year. We look forward to seeing you all show off your skills in committee.<\/span><\/h3>\n

<\/span><\/h3>\n

We will be offering three committees: a General Assembly (ECOFIN), a Specialized Committee (Chinese Warring States Period), and a Crisis (Star Wars: Intergalactic Council), all of which will be run by our endlessly talented and dedicated Secretariat. All of us have worked incredibly hard to make this conference happen, and we hope that you\u2019ll have as much fun this weekend as we had making it happen.<\/span><\/h3>\n

<\/span><\/h3>\n

Through this conference, we hope you all will get the sense of what it feels like to be a decision maker, working alongside others like yourself. In your preparation for the conference, you will get the chance to learn more about the world we live in through your research. In committee, you will contribute to a culture of respectful diplomacy and compassion towards the issues discussed.\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

<\/span><\/h3>\n

We encourage all delegates to approach this weekend with a desire to learn from the people you will be debating alongside. Regardless of if this is your first conference or your first, we hope that you find this conference valuable. We hope you embrace your creativity and feel emboldened to raise your placard often. If you are an experienced delegate, we encourage you to make others feel welcomed and comfortable stepping outside of their comfort zones. Model UN may be an incredibly competitive activity, but it also presents a great opportunity to make valuable connections and unforgettable memories.\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n
