Student Government Members

Executives

Hello everyone! I’m Max, and this year I have the privilege of serving as your Student Body President. I lead Student Government meetings and outline the goals for my administration to complete across initiatives this year. Across the grades, I will be collecting specific monthly feedback, spearheading a concessions initiative to make our athletics more appealing, and working closely with Dr. CW and Ms. Lalli to implement meaningful changes for us, the students.

Hi! My name is Nicholas Bevilacqua, and I serve as Vice President on the Executive Committee of the Dwight-Englewood Student Government. In this role, I oversee each initiative while also working on the specific promises I made in my speech, such as implementing a formal appeal process and improving sign-out capabilities. Beyond overseeing projects, I collaborate closely with President Max and faculty members, which places me in a unique position to effectively address student concerns. My goal is to be a reliable and effective advocate for every student. I want all students to feel comfortable approaching me with any issues they may have, and I am committed to working hard to ensure their voices are heard.

My name is Madigan Kacmar. I am an 11th grade representative. I am the SEA Initiative head. I’ve been on government since freshman year. I worked to plan Coffeehouse! My initiative is working to keep our campus clean, connect the maintenance staff with the student body/faculty, and continue to brainstorm and execute ideas regarding the integration of divisions by planning activities with smaller groups of students in hopes to foster a more close-knit/intimate environment for them to connect with each other!

We continue discussing ways in which we can improve school spirit and unite our classes together through various activities and assemblies. By the end of the year, we plan to have accomplished a variety of events and bring the school even closer through the promotion of sports games and student-led programs.

1oth Grade Representatives

Hi! My name is Nicholas Bevilacqua, and I serve as the 10th-grade class coordinator. While I work primarily within the Tech Initiative, my role isn’t limited to tech-related issues—I make myself available to support other initiatives when necessary. As class coordinator, I work closely with the dean, giving me a unique position to address student concerns. My goal is to be the most reliable and effective advocate for every student’s issue. I want everyone to be able to come up to me with any issues they may have.

Hi I’m Sebastian Chang, I’m a a current 10th grade representative working in the SEA initiative (Sustainability Efforts and Awareness). I tend to focus on initiative work, but I get really into interacting with other initiatives, grade activities, and after school activities. I’m always open to suggestions, comments, or complaints. Let me know and I’ll help out with anything you need!

Heyyy! I’m Ade and I’m the Leader of the Athletic Engagement Initiative. This is my 2nd on government and I’m looking forward to working in this sector this year. This year we are working towards encouraging sports game attendance, whether that be through scheduling or addition like food trucks and other aspects of our school’s athletic spirit. We hope by the end of the year we will notice measurable change is our school’s attitude towards our sports in general!!

I am a Class Representative on the STAR initiative. We are working on a Database for Student Opportunities. I Hope to Provide Students with Opportunities in Order to Give Them Chances to Enhance Their Learning in and Out of School.

My name is Liam Silvestri, and I am a representative for the DE Class of 27. This is my first year in Student Government. I am currently working on the STAR initiative (Student-Teacher Academic Relations). This year I am working on a large database of leadership opportunities, awards and out of school learning programs. This catalogue will encourage DE students to try more out of school opportunities to refine their academic craft, and improve their college applications. I’m hoping to make an overall improvement to the mental health and academic clarity in both my grade and the entire school through both this database and more.

Hi! My name is Ellie Gottheimer and I am a 10th grade class representative. This is my first year on government, and I’m part of the Food Life initiative. I’m so excited for this upcoming year and all of the events to come!

9th Grade Representatives

My name is Michael Lihanda, and I’m the elected class coordinator for the class of ’28. This is my first time working in Student Government, and I’m eager to make an impact. I aim to improve our lunch structure to reduce long lines and crowding, and I also plan to expand snack options in the coop through surveys, as I know many find the current choices repetitive. I want to build on upperclassman initiatives, especially the Dwight-Englewood Student Alumni Internship program, which will be valuable as we progress through high school. Additionally, I hope to organize an out-of-state trip for bonding and lasting memories, and I’ll be working with the athletics office on a plan to enhance the sports space at D-E, a project I began in middle school. While I’d love to see all of these ideas through, I understand that some may not be possible, and I’m ready to adjust my goals accordingly.

My name is Owen Lee. I am in 9th Grade and on the SEA Initiative. I want to start working on having students actually care about keeping campus clean. I hope to simply make a meaningful difference on campus,

My name is Evan Wang, and I am a freshman. I am serving as 9th Grade Rep this year, which is my first year in Student Gov. I am currently working on hearing what my fellow peers and classmates want/request/suggest. What I hope to accomplish is setting up carts around campus for lunch bowls/plates, creating an internship program, getting more student input for school trips in a Google form, and strengthening our community through small mini-competition events such as weekly advisory competitions, mini sports tourneys, etc. An additional idea not from my speech is to make first-period attendance go online for convenience.

Hi! My name is Dani Dennis. This year, I am student representative of the class of 2028. I am very proud to say this is my first year as a student representative and I aim to make the most of it. Currently, I am looking for ways to bring the Dwight Englewood community together, so we can be stronger together. I would like to do this in a few ways, for example, enhancing Spirit Week by adding competitions for prizes, trivia, and dress up contests. This year I hope to see change within the dynamics of our school and see all of the School Life events come together to see every bond, but this is just the beginning of something wonderful!

Hi! My name is Alex and I’m one of the 6 class representatives of the freshman class of 2028. This is my first year on Government, but far from the first year I’ve wanted to pursue it. This year, I want to find ways to make students’ lives easier through attentive listening and strong advocation for their specific needs. Communication is such an important aspect of leadership, and as class representative, I want to make sure everyone’s voice is equally heard. All in all, I’m so excited to work alongside my fellow representatives and can’t wait to help create a more comfortable and connective learning space within the upper school! .

Hi, my name is Joseph Lee. I’m a new student here at D-E, and I serve as a representative for the 9th grade. This year, I hope to get community umbrellas that are provided by the school on rainy days, a monthly snack rotation in the Coop, and digital versions of student IDs that can be put in your smart-phone. Most importantly, I want to act as a voice for the entirety of the 9th grade, someone that any of my peers can rely on to be heard by the school. My biggest goal as a member of student government is to work for the satisfaction and happiness of every single one of my classmates.
