The school life initiative works to improve school life and make the school day more fun for every student. We plan and organize events like Spirit Week, Homecoming, the Turkey Bowl, and Magic, among others. The School Life initiative is led by Anna Ibarguen and Finn Beneviste. Members of this intiative include Remi Silver, Charlottle Hilfers, Michael Lihanda, and Dani Dennis. We look forward to having a fun year and to coming up with more events for the student body!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During the Fall Semester, the\u00a0Food<\/span>\u00a0Services<\/span> Initiative has been working on enhancing the student eating experience in exciting ways! The Food Services initative is led by Musashi Shabazz and Alison Lihanda. Other representatives on this intiative consist of Alexandra Rhee, Joseph Lee, and Ellie Gottheimer. Our team has been exploring new snack and drink options at the COOP, diving into distributors to <\/span>potentially\u00a0<\/span>bring in new items such as Gatorade, Pirate\u2019s Booty (heheh), Clif Bars, seaweed, and bakery items. We\u2019ve also started the conversation about implementing digital IDs at the COOP, aiming to make transactions faster and more convenient. We also hope to plan <\/span>Fun\u00a0Food<\/span>\u00a0Friday<\/span>\u00a0during January, a way for students to be able to order\u00a0food<\/span>\u00a0from local restaurants during lunch. With these initiatives, we hope to continue to make school\u00a0dining<\/span>, fresh, fun, and flavorful as always.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The STAR is a very important initiative on student government. The initiative leader is Soham Bafana and the other members of STAR are Tyler Pinniger, Liam Silverstri, and Evan Wang.\u00a0 The STAR\u2019s mission is to focus on how to improve every student’s academic experience. In the past STAR has adjusted the midterm and exam schedule and has published the STAR document to outline academic regulations.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

[\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”Sustainability Efforts and Awareness (SEA)” _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content” open=”off” sticky_enabled=”0″]<\/p>\n

The SEA initiative focuses on promoting sustainability around campus. Our goal is to educate our community members on how to better take care of our environment. We are also responsible for events like Coffeehouse. We are currently working on assessing book usage across subjects to determine whether or not certain materials can be recycled for succeeding years. We are also planning a more artsy activity using recycled plastic! The SEA initiative is led by Madigan Kacmar and Sebastian Chang.<\/span><\/div>\n

The tech initiative strives to fix and combat and technical issues that the student body faces. We have been directly responsible for unblocking numerous social media sites, have posted forms on MyDE, and stay in constant communication with the Tech Department and the Communications Office. We are currently working on digital coop ids, publishing our informant newsletter, and improving our website.
