The United Nations Third Committee, commonly referred to as SOCHUM, deals with social, humanitarian affairs, and human rights issues in order to improve the quality of life of those around the world. During DEMUN 2023, delegates will have the chance to tackle the refugee crisis in the Mediterranean Sea and the uncontained drug trade in Central and South America. Delegates will have to deal with a scope of controversial and difficult issues ranging from drug interdiction and treatment for addicts to refugee integration and border policy.
